Abstract Paintings and Designs

My abstract work emerged out of a lifelong interest in archaeology and ancient history.

This interest was further enhanced when I took part in a dig near Avebury, Wiltshire, during the summers of 1999 and 2000. From this experience, I realised this ancient landscape had a complex story to tell. Using abstract shape and colour, my designs attempt to relate man's interaction with the landscape, from ancient use to current interpretation.

In 2004, I designed a collection of rugs based on the Neolithic theme.

My paintings are gouache and collage. More can be seen on the Artwork page.

The paintings, rugs and wallhangings have been exhibited with Elementals Group and also during Wandsworth Artists' Open House Weekends held in October.
